Imagine an Africa where bold ideas gain root and take shape. At the heart of this initiative was GSA Africa 2024 in which Dr. Julian Rowa was a jury member. This event brought together distinguished startup veterans, investors, technologists, and ecosystem builders essentially designed to connect innovators with funders.
Operating across 55 African countries, GSA scouts for high-potential tech and business startups that address real global challenges. 2024 saw applications in excess of 11000. The jury scrutinized submissions, weighed the social and economic impact and assigned a score, comparatively signaling what Africa’s should look out for growth, impact, sustainability, rigor and relevance. This was followed by an audit, share of best practice and lessons learned where participants had a chance to interact with the experts.
